Athletics Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annually, distributed weekly. Health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one
  • Austin, TX (full-time, on-site)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the elite level—as an Olympian, World Champion, or NCAA D1 First Team All-American—requires unmatched discipline and focus. The question is whether you can convert those principles into practical coaching methods that elevate students to exceptional performance.

Texas Sports Academy offers a different playing field: one where you actively coach students, challenging them daily to exceed their perceived limits. Your role goes beyond storytelling. You will apply elite athletic principles to develop concrete motivation frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead intensive practice sessions where championship expectations define the standard for every participant.

Austin provides year-round access to outdoor training facilities, a dynamic sports environment, and a purpose-centered community that values your competitive background as the cornerstone for developing future leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive transformation. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting individualized motivation coaching sessions where you apply your competitive experience to create targeted, actionable development strategies
  • Delivering high-impact morning assemblies that activate and inspire the full student body
  • Guiding interactive workshops focused on critical life competencies, actively coaching students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and strategic goal-setting
  • Directing structured athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: crafting drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through competitive sport (not merely overseeing activities)
  • Engaging continuously with all students throughout each day: moving through spaces during self-directed learning periods, intervening to encourage students facing challenges, and generating spontaneous coaching opportunities that catalyze new perspectives

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from the periphery as a symbolic presence: this position demands direct, hands-on involvement—you will be actively present, leading sessions, and responding to student needs in the moment.
  • Delivering conventional classroom instruction or executing a set curriculum: students progress through adaptive digital platforms. Your focus is life coaching, motivational development, and imparting transferable skills via athletic mentorship and personal engagement.

Candidate requirements

  • We are recruiting accomplished former athletes with credentials at the pinnacle of competitive sport — Olympic competitors, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Verified experience applying athletic principles to mentor and develop life competencies in others
  • Established track record of motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or organizational contexts
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
