Athletics Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual compensation, distributed weekly. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage starts immediately
  • Based in Austin, TX (full on-site presence required)
  • Relocation assistance available

Having reached the pinnacle of athletic competition—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or NCAA Division I First Team All-American—you understand what it takes to excel at the highest level. The question now is whether you can convert that experience into deliberate coaching methods that drive measurable student achievement.

Texas Sports Academy is where your competitive career evolves into a new challenge: developing champions not from the periphery, but through direct, daily coaching that challenges students to exceed their perceived boundaries. Your role goes beyond recounting past victories. You will apply elite-level discipline to develop concrete motivational frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive sessions, and lead rigorous practice environments where championship expectations are non-negotiable.

Austin provides consistent outdoor training conditions, a dynamic sports ecosystem, and a purpose-centered environment where your competitive background becomes the core of leadership development for emerging talent.

Lead with intention. Drive change through engagement. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting individualized motivation sessions that convert your competitive discipline into concrete, executable coaching frameworks
  • Directing high-intensity morning assemblies designed to activate the full student community
  • Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you guide students through practical exercises in resilience, leadership development, and systematic goal achievement
  • Overseeing structured afternoon athletic training that embodies championship principles: creating drill sequences, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling perseverance and collaboration through athletic competition (not passive supervision)
  • Maintaining continuous engagement with all students: moving through the facility during self-directed study periods, intervening motivationally when students encounter obstacles, and engineering moments that catalyze transformative insights

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from a distance in a symbolic capacity: this position demands active floor presence, direct student interaction, session leadership, and immediate real-time intervention.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to subject-based lesson plans: students progress through adaptive digital platforms. Your focus is life coaching, motivational guidance, and developing meta-competencies through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're seeking former elite athletes who have proven themselves at the very top of sport — Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
