Director of Client Enrollment   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions focus on throughput. This one is designed to uphold excellence.

Alpha is creating one of the most forward-thinking school models globally. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely advance faster than national averages, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model delivers results. But success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your mandate.

You will manage the complete enrollment cycle for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and concluding with onboarding. This is not a relay position. You own how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with clarity. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not volume maximization. The objective is mutual fit.

We welcome candidates from elite service sectors outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, five-star hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership services, or entrepreneurs who have directly managed high-stakes client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has been defined by exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and experience quality form the brand identity, this role will be intuitive—simply directed toward work that genuinely transforms lives.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are recruiting in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial outreach through final onboarding.
  • Facilitating assessment discussions to evaluate alignment before proposing solutions or advising on progression.
  • Tracking 20+ concurrent family engagements across various enrollment phases, maintaining full transparency on status and required actions.
  • Guiding campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment dialogues that articulate results, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment merely to satisfy targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or navigating complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing family experience ownership across multiple departments.
  • Operating remotely. This position is campus-based intentionally.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, high-selectivity enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the quality and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing elite, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand standing (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, premium memberships, or independently operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial engagement through onboarding completion.
  • Experience concurrently stewarding 20+ client, guest, or family accounts across varying stages, supported by a structured tracking and prioritization approach.
  • Capacity to offer specific examples of consultative judgment, including advising clients away from your offering when fit was lacking.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with C-level executives, high-net-worth clientele, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these regions: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive private school admissions or selective program recruitment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP concierge services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion alignment, not merely velocity.
