Director of Client Enrollment   $200,000 USD/year

Description

While most enrollment positions prioritize volume, this role is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics with technology-enabled learning and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely learn at rates exceeding national benchmarks, supported by measurable data. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model is effective—but only when paired with the right families.

That is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete enrollment process for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a handoff position. You are accountable for the family experience, the clarity with which they understand our model, and whether enrollment decisions are driven by the right motivations. You will evaluate fit, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and recommend against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is alignment.

We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership organizations, or owner-operators with direct experience managing high-value client journeys from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-stage process with sound judgment, clarity, and accountability.

If your career has been spent delivering white-glove service where trust, discretion, and experience quality define the brand, this role will be a natural fit—just applied to work that drives real outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, in-person position. We are hiring in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation support is available.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to evaluate fit before proposing solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various stages of enrollment, with transparent tracking of status and follow-up actions.
  • Guiding campus tours, shadow visits, and decision-making conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) current and accurate to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Executing transactional or aggressive sales strategies.
  • Accepting families who do not align with the model simply to meet quotas.
  • Overseeing a large team or working through complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family journey across multiple roles.
  • Operating remotely. This role is campus-based by design.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, highly selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, personalized service in settings where service quality directly influences brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships at varying stages, supported by a clear tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to share specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your product or service due to poor fit.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or sophisticated clients.
  • Willingness to live in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following markets: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or enrollment for competitive programs.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or improving enrollment workflows, SOPs, or service standards.
  • Comfort leveraging data and CRM insights to enhance conversion quality, not just velocity.
