Client Services Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

This enrollment position does not chase numbers. It safeguards standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most rigorous school models. Our campuses combine demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely exceed national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons become opportunities for deeper exploration, self-directed work, and applied skill development. The model delivers results. But success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is where your work begins.

You will manage the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with the initial inquiry and concluding with onboarding. This is not a segmented function. You own how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether their enrollment decision reflects genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not volume maximization. The objective is mission alignment.

We welcome applicants from elite service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, five-star hospitality, executive client services, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly managed premium client relationships from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a sophisticated, phased engagement with sound judgment, communication clarity, and operational discipline.

If your professional experience centers on delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and client experience define brand value, this role will be recognizable—simply applied to work that produces measurable impact.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-campus position. We are hiring across La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment process for prospective families, beginning with initial outreach and ending with onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating diagnostic conversations to assess compatibility before offering solutions or advancing to subsequent stages.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying enrollment phases, maintaining transparent tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Directing campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment discussions that articulate expected outcomes, program requirements, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting accuracy, task prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional techniques or aggressive closing strategies.
  • Admitting poorly matched families to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Supervising staff or working within complex hierarchical approval structures.
  • Distributing family relationship ownership across multiple team members.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires on-site presence by design.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the operational excellence and educational outcomes of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly shapes brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership, or owner-managed services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment cycle from initial engagement through final onboarding.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family accounts across multiple stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization framework.
  • Ability to share specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional-level written communication with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these California markets: La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, or South Bay.
  • U.S. work authorization without need for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive private school admissions or selective program recruitment.
  • Professional history in luxury hospitality, VIP concierge services, or C-suite support functions.
  • Involvement in designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely velocity.
