Director of Client Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed to maximize volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the most ambitious educational models in the world. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by verifiable data. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, independence, and practical skill development. The model is proven. But it depends on enrolling the right families.

This is where your role begins.

You will manage the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with the first inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a segmented role. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they understand the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with full clarity. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not enrollment volume. The objective is fit.

We welcome candidates from high-touch service backgrounds outside traditional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive-level support, premium membership organizations, or owner-operators who have directly managed high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a sophisticated, multi-phase process with sound judgment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has been defined by delivering exceptional service where trust, discretion, and quality of experience shape the brand, this role will resonate with you—except here, it contributes to measurable outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site role. We are hiring in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based conversations to evaluate alignment before presenting options or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships at varying stages of enrollment, with disciplined tracking of status and follow-up.
  • Directing campus tours, shadow visits, and decision-stage conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring accurate CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deploying transactional or aggressive sales approaches.
  • Accepting misaligned families to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Leading a large team or operating within complex approval hierarchies.
  • Dividing ownership of the family experience across multiple stakeholders.
  • Working remotely. This role requires campus presence by design.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the performance and standards of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial outreach through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships at different phases, supported by a structured tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to share specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you recommended against your product or service due to poor fit.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or discerning clients.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with selective private school admissions or competitive program enrollment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest relations, or executive-level support.
  • Experience designing or improving enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Comfort applying data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
