Director of Client Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Unlike most enrollment positions that prioritize volume, this role is designed to safeguard quality and alignment.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most forward-thinking educational frameworks. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and educators. Students routinely exceed national learning benchmarks—a claim supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are structured to allow for deeper exploration, autonomy, and the cultivation of practical competencies. The model is proven. Its success, however, depends entirely on selecting families who share our philosophy. Your role will be to ensure that match.

You will assume full ownership of the campus admissions process, beginning with the initial inquiry and extending through final enrollment. This is not a role where responsibility is distributed. You will determine how families perceive us, how effectively they grasp the model, and whether their decision to enroll is grounded in the right motivations. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to ensure alignment.

We welcome applicants from premium client-facing fields outside conventional education: independent schools, highly selective programs, upscale hospitality, senior-level administrative support, exclusive membership services, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly managed sophisticated client experiences from start to finish. What is essential is your capability to execute a detailed, multiphase engagement with sound judgment, precision, and consistent execution. If your professional background has centered on delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and experience design are brand-defining, you will recognize this environment. Apply now to contribute that level of excellence to work with meaningful impact.

What you will be doing

  • Taking complete responsibility for the enrollment experience of prospective families, beginning with initial outreach and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating exploratory discussions to evaluate compatibility before introducing program details or advising on subsequent actions.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across various enrollment phases, ensuring transparent tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Guiding campus visits, trial attendance, and enrollment discussions that articulate results, standards, and the families best suited to the model.
  • Keeping CRM systems and enrollment databases (HubSpot and SIS) current to enable accurate forecasting, strategic prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive conversion strategies.
  • Accepting families whose values are misaligned merely to satisfy enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing staff or operating within complex hierarchical structures.
  • Transferring responsibility for the family relationship to other team members.
  • Performing duties remotely. This position requires on-campus presence.

Key responsibilities

Take full ownership of a trust-centered, highly selective enrollment process that secures the right families while maintaining the standards and effectiveness of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where the quality of service is integral to organizational reputation (education, upscale hospitality, executive administration, exclusive membership programs, or independently managed client services).
  • Proven responsibility for managing a complete client, admissions, or enrollment cycle from initial engagement through final onboarding.
  • Experience coordinating 20+ client, guest, or family accounts concurrently at varying stages, supported by a structured approach to tracking and prioritization.
  • Ability to present specific instances of advisory decision-making, including occasions when you advised against your offering due to poor fit.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with C-level executives, affluent clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Malibu, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with admissions in competitive private schools or selective program enrollment.
  • Professional history in high-end hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support functions.
  • Experience designing or improving enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency in applying CRM data and analytics to enhance enrollment quality rather than merely accelerating throughput.
