Director of Client Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions prioritize volume above all else. This role is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the most ambitious educational models in existence. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-driven instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely accelerate beyond national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable data. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model delivers results. But sustained success depends on enrolling the right families.

This is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with the initial inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a role with handoffs. You own how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made for sound reasons. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize enrollment figures. The objective is alignment.

We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive coordination, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly managed high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with sound judgment, transparency, and consistent follow-through.

If your career has been defined by delivering exceptional service where trust, discretion, and experience quality shape the brand, this position will resonate with you—simply applied to work that produces measurable outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are hiring across La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact through final onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based conversations to assess compatibility before proposing solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across varying stages of enrollment, maintaining clear tracking of status and follow-up actions.
  • Conducting campus tours, shadow visits, and decision-oriented discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Keeping precise CRM and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or high-pressure sales approaches.
  • Enrolling poorly matched families to achieve numerical targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or working through complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing ownership of the family journey across multiple roles.
  • Operating remotely. This position is campus-based by necessity.

Key responsibilities

Own and deliver a high-trust, selective enrollment process that successfully enrolls aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, tailored service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, high-end hospitality, executive coordination, exclusive membership services, or independently operated client services).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial inquiry through onboarding completion.
  • Experience managing 20+ simultaneous client, guest, or family relationships at varying stages, supported by a structured tracking and prioritization system.
  • Capability to share specific examples of consultative judgment, including occasions when you recommended against your offering due to poor fit.
  • Professional written communication skills with senior executives, affluent individuals, or discerning clients.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive private school admissions or selective program enrollment management.
  • Background in high-end hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level coordination.
  • Experience designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion alignment, not merely velocity.
