Director of Guest Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

This enrollment role is not about driving numbers. It exists to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics with technology-enabled learning and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students reliably outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons shift toward deeper exploration, independent work, and practical skill development. The model is effective—but only when paired with the right families. That is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete admissions experience for a campus, spanning application to enrollment. This is not a role defined by handoffs. You own how families perceive us, how thoroughly they comprehend our model, and whether their enrollment decision is made with the right understanding. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate informed discussions, and recommend against enrollment when that is the appropriate course. Maximum enrollment is not the objective. Alignment is.

We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive support roles, premium membership organizations, or owner-operators who have directly managed high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with sound judgment, transparency, and consistent follow-through. If your career has been defined by white-glove service in environments where trust, discretion, and experience quality are brand-defining, this role will resonate. Apply now to apply that standard to meaningful work.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment process for prospective families, beginning with initial contact and extending through onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to establish fit prior to outlining solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across varied enrollment stages, maintaining clear tracking of status and follow-up actions.
  • Guiding campus tours, shadow day experiences, and enrollment conversations that transparently convey outcomes, expectations, and intended student profiles.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment systems (HubSpot and SIS) current and accurate to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Enrolling families who lack alignment in order to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a large team or operating within complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family experience across multiple functions.
  • Working from home. This is an on-campus role by necessity.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, highly selective enrollment process that successfully enrolls aligned families while safeguarding the quality and performance of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence is critical to brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership environments, or owner-operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience spanning initial contact to onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family engagements across different phases, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization method.
  • Capacity to offer specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you advised against your own product or service based on misalignment.
  • Professional writing experience with senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these markets: Malibu, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with admissions in selective private schools or enrollment for competitive programs.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest relations, or executive support capacities.
  • Experience developing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service quality protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM tools to enhance enrollment quality rather than simply volume.
