Director of Guest Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions focus on volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses combine rigorous academics with technology-enabled learning and maintain high expectations for both students and staff. Students regularly exceed national learning benchmarks—the outcomes are measurable. Afternoons are dedicated to deeper exploration, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model delivers results. But success depends on enrolling the right families.

That's your focus.

You will manage the complete enrollment process for a campus, starting with initial inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a role where responsibilities are divided. You are accountable for how families engage with us, how thoroughly they understand our model, and whether enrollment decisions reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate fit, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to ensure alignment.

We welcome candidates from high-touch service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive-level support, premium membership communities, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly overseen high-value client relationships from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a sophisticated, multi-phase process with discernment, clarity, and consistency.

If your career has been built on delivering exceptional service where trust, discretion, and client experience define reputation, this role will be recognizable—just applied to work that produces meaningful outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-campus position. We are recruiting in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, beginning with first contact and continuing through onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based conversations to evaluate fit before introducing solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across varying stages of enrollment, with transparent tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Conducting campus tours, student shadow visits, and decision-stage conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and model suitability.
  • Ensuring accurate records in CRM and enrollment systems (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and consistent service delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment just to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a large team or working within multi-layered approval structures.
  • Transferring ownership of the family journey across multiple functions.
  • Operating remotely. This position is on-campus by design.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, selective enrollment process that attracts and converts well-aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, tailored service in settings where service quality directly influences brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership, or owner-managed services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial inquiry through onboarding.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships across different phases, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to share specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you advised against your offering when fit was insufficient.
  • Professional writing experience communicating with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or sophisticated audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in admissions for selective private schools or competitive enrollment programs.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support functions.
  • Experience developing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency using data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely volume.
