Director of Guest Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed to drive numbers. This one is designed to uphold excellence.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational frameworks. Our schools integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Students routinely progress beyond national performance standards, with measurable results to confirm it. Afternoons are dedicated to deeper exploration, self-directed learning, and practical competency development. The approach is effective. But its effectiveness depends entirely on family alignment.

This is your domain.

You will lead the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with initial contact and continuing through onboarding completion. This is not a coordinating position. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with proper understanding. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate substantive dialogue, and advise against enrollment when circumstances warrant it. The objective is not enrollment maximization. The objective is mission alignment.

We welcome applicants from premium client service backgrounds outside conventional education sectors: independent schools, competitive admissions programs, high-end hospitality, executive concierge services, exclusive membership communities, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen sophisticated client experiences from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, phased engagement with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your professional history involves delivering exceptional service in settings where credibility, confidentiality, and experiential quality are brand-defining, this opportunity will be recognizable—simply directed toward work that genuinely influences life trajectories.

This is a salaried, full-time, on-site position. We are currently hiring in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Support for relocation is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Leading the entire enrollment lifecycle for prospective families, from initial inquiry to completed onboarding.
  • Facilitating discovery-based conversations to evaluate alignment before proposing pathways or advising on decisions.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varying enrollment phases, with complete transparency on progression and next actions.
  • Directing campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment consultations that articulate expectations, results, and ideal-fit criteria with clarity.
  • Ensuring precise documentation in CRM and enrollment platforms (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting accuracy, priority management, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying volume-focused or coercive enrollment strategies.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment in order to meet enrollment targets.
  • Supervising teams or operating within complex hierarchical structures.
  • Distributing responsibility for family experience across multiple stakeholders.
  • Performing this work remotely. The role is intentionally campus-centered.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that secures well-matched families while safeguarding the foundational principles and academic outcomes of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing elevated, individualized service in contexts where quality of service is integral to organizational reputation (education, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership sectors, or independently managed client services).
  • Proven accountability for managing a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial engagement through onboarding.
  • Track record of concurrently stewarding 20+ client, guest, or family relationships across multiple stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization methodology.
  • Capacity to supply specific instances of advisory decision-making, including situations where you recommended against your offering when fit was absent.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with C-level executives, affluent clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these regions: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requirement for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive independent school admissions or selective program recruitment.
  • Professional history in upscale hospitality, VIP client services, or senior executive support functions.
  • Experience designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging analytics and CRM tools to enhance enrollment alignment, not merely throughput.
