Description

You recognize that moment clearly. A student who once hesitated over words now reads with assurance. The tension fades. The trajectory shifts. If guiding students toward that transformation is what drives you, this position is designed with you in mind.

Novatio operates as a fully remote school committed to advancing students through individualized support, effective teaching, and outcomes that can be measured. We understand that learners struggling with reading require more than digital tools and practice sheets. They need precise intervention, steady encouragement, and instructors who can respond adaptively as situations unfold.

In this position, you will conduct virtual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8, simultaneously building the confidence and persistence that fuel sustained progress. You will analyze assessment data to identify skill deficits, modify instruction promptly, and design interventions aligned with each student's current level. You will also facilitate brief motivation check-ins to maintain engagement, accountability, and pride in their achievements.

This position suits someone who appreciates independence, rapid feedback cycles, and clear results. If you seek the freedom to customize instruction while supporting students in achieving quantifiable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension, we invite you to connect with us.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
  • Analyzing assessment and progress-monitoring data to identify comprehension and fluency gaps and modify instruction promptly
  • Adapting instruction across varying reading levels, including assistance for students with dyslexia and related reading challenges
  • Monitoring student progress systematically and applying the data to shape subsequent intervention plans
  • Facilitating structured motivation check-ins that build confidence, persistence, and ownership of growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching large lecture-format classes using a fixed curriculum
  • Adhering to rigid intervention scripts without responding to student needs
  • Serving as a passive supervisor for software-driven learning programs
  • Relying on superficial incentives rather than fostering genuine student motivation and confidence

Key responsibilities

Produce measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3–8 through customized virtual intervention and motivation support that cultivates enduring confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field
  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
