Description

You recognize that moment—the shift when a student who once hesitated begins reading with fluidity and self-assurance. Frustration fades. Momentum builds. If guiding students toward that transformation is what drives you, this position is designed for your strengths.

Novatio operates as a fully remote school dedicated to advancing student achievement through individualized support, effective instruction, and outcomes that can be measured. We hold the conviction that students struggling with reading require more than digital tools and printed exercises. They require precise intervention, steady encouragement, and teachers prepared to respond dynamically.

In this position, you will conduct virtual reading intervention sessions for students spanning grades 3 through 8, while fostering the self-belief and determination that sustain long-term achievement. You will analyze assessment results to identify skill deficiencies, modify teaching strategies swiftly, and design interventions aligned with each student's current level. You will also facilitate brief motivation conversations that maintain engagement, accountability, and pride in advancement.

This position suits someone who prizes independence, rapid feedback, and concrete results. If you seek the freedom to customize instruction while enabling students to achieve quantifiable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension, we invite your application.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3 through 8
  • Analyzing assessment and progress-monitoring data to pinpoint comprehension and fluency deficits and modify instruction rapidly
  • Adapting instruction across varied reading levels, including accommodations for students with dyslexia and associated reading difficulties
  • Monitoring student progress systematically and applying the data to shape subsequent intervention strategies
  • Facilitating structured motivation check-ins that build confidence, persistence, and accountability for growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering large lecture-format classes using a standardized curriculum
  • Adhering to inflexible intervention protocols without responding to individual student requirements
  • Serving as a passive supervisor for software-driven learning platforms
  • Relying on superficial rewards rather than cultivating genuine student motivation and self-confidence

Key responsibilities

Produce measurable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3 through 8 via personalized virtual intervention and motivational guidance that fosters enduring confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field
  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
