Reading Interventionist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

You know the breakthrough moment. A student who has been struggling suddenly reads with confidence instead of hesitation. The frustration drops. The momentum changes. If helping students reach that moment is the work that motivates you, this role was built for you.

Novatio is a fully remote school focused on helping students make meaningful academic progress through personalized support, strong instruction, and measurable outcomes. We believe struggling readers need more than software and worksheets. They need targeted intervention, consistent encouragement, and educators who know how to adapt in real time.

In this role, you will deliver virtual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8 while helping them build the confidence and persistence that drive long-term growth. You will use assessment data to diagnose skill gaps, adjust instruction quickly, and create interventions that meet students where they are. You will also lead short motivation check-ins that keep students engaged, accountable, and proud of their progress.

This role is ideal for someone who values autonomy, fast feedback loops, and visible outcomes. If you want the flexibility to tailor instruction while helping students make measurable gains in reading fluency and comprehension, we would like to meet you.

What you will be doing

  • Delivering virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
  • Using assessment and progress-monitoring data to target comprehension and fluency gaps and adjust instruction quickly
  • Differentiating instruction across multiple reading levels, including support for students with dyslexia and related reading challenges
  • Tracking student progress consistently and using the data to inform future intervention plans
  • Leading structured motivation check-ins that strengthen confidence, persistence, and ownership of growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching large lecture-style classes from a fixed curriculum
  • Following rigid intervention scripts without adapting to student needs
  • Acting as a passive monitor for software-based learning programs
  • Using shallow incentives instead of building authentic student motivation and confidence

Key responsibilities

Drive measurable gains in reading fluency and comprehension for students in grades 3–8 through personalized virtual intervention and motivation support that builds lasting confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, literacy, or a related field
  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
