Reading Interventionist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

You recognize the turning point. A learner who once struggled with every sentence begins reading smoothly, with assurance replacing uncertainty. The tension fades. The trajectory shifts. If guiding students to that transformation is what drives you, this position is designed for you.

Novatio operates as a fully virtual school committed to advancing students through individualized support, effective teaching methods, and results you can measure. We understand that learners facing reading challenges require more than digital tools and practice sheets. They need precise intervention, steady reinforcement, and instructors prepared to respond dynamically.

In this position, you will conduct remote reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3 through 8 while fostering the self-assurance and determination that fuel sustained achievement. You will analyze assessment information to identify skill deficiencies, modify teaching approaches rapidly, and design interventions that address each student's current level. You will also facilitate brief motivational conversations that maintain student engagement, responsibility, and pride in their advancement.

This position suits someone who appreciates independence, immediate performance feedback, and clear results. If you seek the freedom to customize teaching while supporting students in achieving quantifiable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension, we invite you to connect with us.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting virtual individual and small-group reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3 through 8
  • Analyzing assessment and monitoring data to identify comprehension and fluency deficiencies and modify instruction rapidly
  • Adapting instruction across varying reading proficiency levels, including accommodations for learners with dyslexia and associated reading difficulties
  • Monitoring student advancement systematically and applying the data to shape subsequent intervention strategies
  • Facilitating organized motivational discussions that enhance confidence, perseverance, and personal accountability for progress

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing large lecture-format classes using a standardized curriculum
  • Adhering to inflexible intervention protocols without responding to individual student requirements
  • Serving as a passive supervisor for technology-driven learning platforms
  • Relying on superficial rewards rather than cultivating genuine student motivation and self-confidence

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvements in reading fluency and comprehension for learners in grades 3 through 8 via customized virtual intervention and motivational guidance that establishes enduring confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a related field
  • Reading intervention certification or equivalent state endorsement (e.g., Reading Specialist certification or equivalent)
  • Training or certification in dyslexia intervention or structured literacy approaches
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering one-on-one or small-group reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret student progress data and use it to adjust instruction effectively
  • Strong virtual communication and student engagement skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
