Director of Enrollment   $250,000 USD/year

Description

While most enrollment positions prioritize volume, this one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics with technology-enabled learning and maintain high expectations for both students and staff. Students consistently outpace national learning benchmarks—the data confirms it. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, independence, and building real-world skills. The model is effective. But success depends on enrolling the right families. That is your responsibility.

You will oversee the complete admissions process for a campus, from initial application to final enrollment. This is not a handoff position. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment decisions are made for sound reasons. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate meaningful conversations, and recommend "no" when appropriate. You will also drive local demand by cultivating community relationships, generating qualified family interest, and delivering measurable enrollment growth for the campus. The objective is not enrollment maximization. The objective is sustainable growth with families who fit.

We welcome candidates from selective education, premium membership organizations, luxury hospitality, high-value service sectors, or owner-operated businesses who have personally overseen complex client journeys from start to finish. Adjacent premium-service or executive-support experience may qualify only when accompanied by direct evidence of demand generation, partnership development, or ownership of measurable growth results. If you pair white-glove judgment with the ambition to serve as the local ambassador of a campus and expand its enrollment, this role will resonate.

What you will be doing

  • Overseeing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to evaluate fit before offering solutions or suggesting next steps.
  • Managing 20+ concurrent family relationships across varying enrollment stages, maintaining clear visibility into status and follow-up requirements.
  • Guiding campus tours, shadow visits, and decision-making conversations that transparently convey outcomes, expectations, and the intended audience for the model.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment records (HubSpot and SIS) accurate to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or high-pressure sales methods.
  • Admitting families who are misaligned in order to meet a quota.
  • Overseeing a large team or working through layered approval structures.
  • Distributing ownership of the family experience across multiple roles.
  • Operating remotely. This position is campus-based by design.

Key responsibilities

Own and deliver a high-trust, highly selective enrollment process that enrolls the right families while safeguarding the integrity and performance of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, personalized service in settings where service quality directly influences brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, premium membership, high-value services, or owner-operated businesses).
  • Demonstrated ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enrollment growth or a comparable high-value customer-acquisition objective, including proactive lead generation, local market or community partnership cultivation, and measurable conversion or growth results.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships at varying stages, with a clear tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to offer concrete examples of consultative decision-making, including advising against your product or service when it was not the appropriate fit.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, or sophisticated clients.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following markets: San Rafael (Marin County), CA; or Palo Alto, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or competitive program enrollment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest services, or executive-level support roles.
  • Experience developing or refining enrollment processes, SOPs, or service standards.
  • Comfort leveraging data and CRM insights to enhance conversion quality, not merely speed.
