Operations Manager   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-run campus feels orderly, approachable, and composed—the result of countless operational decisions made consistently in the background.

Nova Academy is built to meet the expectations of students and families who demand excellence beyond the classroom. That standard applies to family communications, student safety, operational flow, and problem resolution. This position ensures those elements function reliably, day after day.

You will own the complete non-instructional operation of the campus. You create family trust through responsive, transparent communication. You protect student safety by managing procedures and incident protocols. You handle facilities, logistics, and day-to-day operations so instructional staff remain focused on students. You also ensure technology enables learning without disruption.

This is a visible, operational role suited to someone who values variety, accountability, and service. If you are motivated by problem-solving, supporting a community, and building an environment where students and staff succeed, this position provides substantial ownership and influence.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating trusted relationships with parents, students, and staff through clear, bilingual, proactive communication
  • Overseeing campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health incidents, emergency drills, documentation, and family notifications
  • Managing day-to-day campus operations including attendance tracking, transportation logistics, facilities maintenance, and office coordination
  • Facilitating onboarding and training for incoming staff to ensure seamless integration into campus procedures and culture
  • Administering student devices and campus technology systems, acting as on-site tech contact and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum development
  • Functioning in a narrowly scoped or exclusively administrative capacity
  • Working in a stable, routine, or highly predictable setting
  • Delegating problems rather than following them through to completion

Key responsibilities

Ensure Nova Academy functions safely, smoothly, and reliably so that students, staff, and families encounter a high-trust, operationally sound campus daily.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or comparable operational roles
  • Comfort performing basic technology tasks including device setup, troubleshooting, and account administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Availability to work in person in Austin, TX, or willingness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of operational management experience
  • Experience serving as a Google Administrator
  • Experience planning and executing events
