Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-functioning campus feels orderly, welcoming, and calm—the result of countless behind-the-scenes decisions made to sustain that environment.

Nova Academy is designed for students and families who demand excellence beyond the classroom. That standard extends to communication practices, student safety, operational efficiency, and responsiveness to issues. This position ensures those elements function reliably each day.

As the Business Operations Manager, you oversee all non-academic functions of the campus. You establish trust with families through responsive, transparent communication. You protect student welfare by managing safety protocols and incident procedures. You coordinate facilities, logistics, and day-to-day operations so instructional staff remain focused on teaching. You also ensure that technology enables learning instead of disrupting it.

This is an operational, community-facing position suited to someone who values variety, accountability, and service. If you find satisfaction in problem-solving, supporting others, and building environments where students and staff succeed, this role provides substantial autonomy and meaningful impact.

What you will be doing

  • Developing trust-based relationships with parents, students, and staff through clear, proactive, bilingual outreach
  • Directing campus safety functions, including facility access, health response, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Supervising daily campus functions such as attendance tracking, transportation logistics, facility maintenance, and office coordination
  • Facilitating onboarding and orientation for new employees to support seamless assimilation into campus operations and culture
  • Administering student technology and campus systems, acting as the primary on-site technical resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or participating in academic support
  • Mentoring instructional staff or contributing to curriculum design
  • Functioning in a narrowly scoped or exclusively clerical capacity
  • Working within a static, low-urgency environment
  • Delegating issues to others rather than managing them to completion

Key responsibilities

Maintain a campus environment that functions safely, reliably, and seamlessly, ensuring students, staff, and families experience a trustworthy, professionally managed institution daily.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study is not specified)
  • Minimum of 1 year in office coordination, facilities management, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with routine technology tasks including device configuration, basic troubleshooting, and user account management
  • Demonstrated written and spoken communication skills
  • Capacity to prioritize competing demands while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness
  • Fluency in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Availability for on-site work in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3 or more years managing operational functions
  • Prior experience administering Google Workspace environments
  • Background in event coordination and execution
