Description

Are you a product leader prepared to leverage AI to reshape the way education functions? We are seeking someone to take ownership of our Education vertical and champion the goal of enabling students to learn with greater effectiveness. This position centers on catalyzing systemic transformation, not merely delivering incremental improvements.

This position is characterized by ownership of a strategic outcome, rather than process management. You will define an objective for our Education vertical and be equipped to deliver it. You will personally write the master "Brain Lift" that encodes our strategy and establishes the portfolio roadmap ensuring all our educational products function as a unified system. You'll guide a team of talented Product Owners, functioning as a player-coach who stays engaged in the most mission-critical initiatives.

The conventional one-size-fits-all educational model does not serve individual learners effectively. Our methodology involves constructing a new system grounded in learning science and AI to provide genuinely personalized instruction. We are demonstrating that education can be simultaneously deeply personal and profoundly impactful.

This position differs from a conventional VP of Product role. If you favor managing process above owning outcomes, or wish to delegate foundational strategic responsibilities, this will not be the appropriate match. We seek a leader who is rigorously analytical, a disciplined first-principles thinker, and unwavering in pursuing the defined objective.

You will guide a capable team of product owners and collaborate directly with the founders to direct the complete vertical. The benchmark for your success is straightforward: clear, evidence-based demonstration that your strategy measurably enhanced how students learn. If you are prepared for a challenge of this magnitude and accountability, let's connect.

What you will be doing

  • Architecting Domain Knowledge: Take ownership of and advance the master "Education Domain BrainLift," consolidating team and market intelligence into one unified strategy that brings the entire vertical into alignment on critical product choices.
  • Steering the Portfolio Roadmap: Convert the Domain BrainLift into an outcome-focused roadmap spanning the full product portfolio. You will establish the work sequence that builds compounding value and supply the strategic rationale that guides your team's execution.
  • Player-Coach Leadership: Operate as a player-coach: execute your own OODA loops on high-priority outcomes to establish the performance standard, while coaching your team through review of their iterations and refinement of their insights to ensure cohesive portfolio delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as a pure people manager. Your principal function is to direct the vertical's strategy and establish the execution standard, not simply oversee headcount, budgets, and operational processes.
  • Implementing a top-down strategy delivered to you. You are tasked with personally authoring the unified, comprehensive strategy for the full vertical, synthesizing insights from the ground level upward.
  • Developing static, long-range roadmaps. Your portfolio roadmap is a dynamic document. You will navigate the portfolio with agility, informed by weekly insights from your team's iterations and your own.
  • Managing a "feature factory." Your success is measured by accomplishing the strategic outcome for the vertical. This demands fostering genuine cross-pollination among products, not merely shipping additional features in isolation.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a product leadership role where you personally shaped the product vision and owned the core problem-solution hypothesis
  • Previous experience launching at least one successful product (not just a feature or a module) that reached real users (not internal tools) from scratch (not joining partway through the development process) to launch (achieving at least $1 million in revenue)
  • Professional experience using AI in your daily work (e.g., research, analysis, synthesis, strategy)
