Head of AI Products   $400,000 USD/year

Description

This role is for a product leader prepared to apply AI to reshape how education functions. We are seeking someone to own and lead our Education vertical with the mission of enabling students to learn with greater effectiveness. The focus here is on creating systemic transformation, not simply iterating on existing features.

Success in this position is measured by owning a strategic outcome, not by managing process. You will define the objective for our Education vertical and be empowered to deliver it. You will personally write the master "Brain Lift" that codifies our strategy and shapes the portfolio roadmap, ensuring all educational products operate as a unified system. Leading a team of talented Product Owners, you will function as a player-coach, staying engaged in the most critical work.

Traditional education relies on a one-size-fits-all model that does not serve individual students effectively. Our method builds a new system grounded in learning science and AI to provide genuinely individualized instruction. We are demonstrating that education can be both deeply personal and highly impactful.

This position differs from a conventional VP of Product role. If you prefer to manage process rather than own outcomes, or wish to delegate core strategic work, this is not the right opportunity. We need a leader who is deeply analytical, thinks from first principles, and is relentless in pursuing the stated goal.

You will lead a talented team of product owners and collaborate directly with the founders to guide the entire vertical. Your success will be measured simply: clear, data-backed evidence that your strategy measurably improved student learning outcomes. If you are prepared for this level of challenge and accountability, we should connect.

What you will be doing

  • Architecting the Domain Knowledge: You will own and evolve the master "Education Domain BrainLift," synthesizing insights from your team and the market into one cohesive strategy that aligns the entire vertical on key product decisions.
  • Driving the Portfolio Roadmap: You will translate the Domain BrainLift into an outcome-driven roadmap for the full product portfolio, defining the sequence of work that generates compounding value and providing the strategic rationale to guide your team's execution.
  • Player-Coach Execution: You will operate as a player-coach: run your own OODA loops on critical outcomes to establish the standard, while mentoring your team by reviewing their iterations and refining their insights to ensure cohesive portfolio execution.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as a pure people manager. Your main responsibility is leading the vertical's strategy and setting the execution standard, not simply managing headcount, budgets, and process.
  • Implementing a top-down strategy handed to you. You are expected to personally author the cohesive, overarching strategy for the entire vertical, synthesizing insights from the ground up.
  • Building static, long-term roadmaps. Your portfolio roadmap is a living document. You will guide the portfolio with agility, informed by weekly learnings from your team's iterations and your own.
  • Running a "feature factory." Your success is measured by achieving the strategic outcome for the vertical. This demands creating genuine cross-pollination between products, not merely shipping more features in silos.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a product leadership role where you personally shaped the product vision and owned the core problem-solution hypothesis
  • Previous experience launching at least one successful product (not just a feature or a module) that reached real users (not internal tools) from scratch (not joining partway through the development process) to launch (achieving at least $1 million in revenue)
  • Professional experience using AI in your daily work (e.g., research, analysis, synthesis, strategy)
