Description

We are seeking a product leader prepared to leverage AI in reshaping the fundamentals of education. You will take ownership of our Education vertical and carry the mission of enabling more effective student learning. This is a role centered on driving structural transformation, not iterating on features.

Success in this position is defined by owning a strategic outcome, not orchestrating processes. Your mandate includes setting the objective for our Education vertical and executing against it with full authority. You will directly author the master "Brain Lift" document that captures our strategy and establishes the portfolio roadmap unifying all educational products. Leading a talented group of Product Owners, you will function as a player-coach who stays immersed in the most critical initiatives.

Traditional education systems apply a uniform model that leaves individual students underserved. We are building a new framework rooted in learning science and AI to provide genuinely individualized instruction. Our work demonstrates that education can be simultaneously personal and profoundly effective.

This position diverges from conventional VP of Product roles. If your preference is process management over outcome ownership, or if you wish to hand off core strategic work to others, this opportunity is not suitable. We require a leader who is rigorously analytical, grounded in first-principles reasoning, and unyielding in pursuing the defined goal.

You will guide a skilled team of product owners and collaborate directly with the founders to direct the vertical. Your success metric is straightforward: concrete, data-supported evidence that your strategy produced measurable improvements in student learning. If you are prepared for accountability and impact at this level, we should speak.

What you will be doing

  • Architecting Domain Knowledge: Take ownership of the master "Education Domain BrainLift" and advance it continuously, consolidating insights from the team and market into one unified strategy that drives alignment across the vertical on pivotal product choices.
  • Steering the Portfolio Roadmap: Convert the Domain BrainLift into an outcome-oriented roadmap spanning the entire product portfolio. You will establish the work sequence that generates compounding value and supply the strategic rationale guiding your team's execution.
  • Player-Coach Engagement: Operate as a player-coach by running your own OODA loops on mission-critical outcomes to model excellence, while coaching your team through reviewing their iterations and refining their insights to ensure cohesive portfolio delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving solely as a people manager. Your core function is leading the vertical's strategy and modeling execution excellence, not simply administering headcount, budgets, and workflows.
  • Implementing a strategy dictated from above. You are expected to personally craft the unified, comprehensive strategy for the entire vertical by synthesizing insights from the ground up.
  • Producing static, fixed-horizon roadmaps. Your portfolio roadmap is dynamic. You will navigate the portfolio with agility, informed by weekly insights drawn from your team's iterations and your own work.
  • Running a "feature factory." Success is measured by the strategic outcome you deliver for the vertical. This demands genuine cross-product synergy, not merely increasing feature output in isolated streams.

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years in a product leadership role where you directly shaped product vision and owned the foundational problem-solution hypothesis
  • Prior experience bringing at least one successful product (not merely a feature or module) to real users (not internal tools) from scratch (not joining mid-development) through launch (generating at least $1 million in revenue)
  • Professional experience applying AI in daily work activities (e.g., research, analysis, synthesis, strategy)
