Full Stack Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Most engineering teams are still trapped in slow-motion delivery. Backlogs pile up, cycle times stretch across weeks, and code reviews devolve into sprint-deadline formalities. Integration risk, fragile architectures, and vague requirements dominate the landscape. AI coding agents now produce viable code—but only when given sharp specifications and close oversight. The default response remains adding more engineers to keyboards rather than redesigning the system that transforms intent into dependable, production-ready software.

Trilogy has chosen a different approach. We operate an end-to-end agentic workflow: engineers own research, specification, architecture, and quality control, while AI agents execute implementation. Specifications are crafted to be directly executable by Claude Code, anchored in test-first discipline and scoped with surgical precision to contain blast radius. The outcome is continuous delivery of production features with compressed feedback cycles, fewer integration surprises, and elevated confidence in correctness before code reaches main.

This role suits engineers who want to architect systems and validate correctness rather than churn through tickets. Your time will break down roughly as follows: 10–20% in research and technical discovery—mapping existing behavior, constraints, and stakeholder needs; 40–50% translating that knowledge into precise, test-driven, agent-compatible specifications and architectural choices; and 40–50% directing and supervising implementation. You own what ships: no silent failures, no vague specs, no deflection to "the agent did it."

You'll work alongside a team that views specification as a product, review as an engineering practice, and delivery as the sole metric that matters. If you're motivated by clean system design, precise scoping, and uncompromising validation—and you already integrate tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or ChatGPT into your daily workflow—you'll excel here. Bring your architectural judgment, your test-driven instincts, and your unrelenting standards for code quality. If this resonates, join us and shape the future of software construction. Apply and demonstrate how you orchestrate agents to deliver production-grade results at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Technical Discovery: Examining existing systems, stakeholder requirements, and data environments to map the problem domain and identify technical constraints
  • Technical Specification: Translating research insights and stakeholder requirements into precise, executable technical specifications tailored for agentic coding assistants (primarily Claude Code) following spec-driven development principles
  • AI Implementation: Directing AI coding agents through implementation, conducting continuous review and validation of agent-generated code, and merging validated changes into the production codebase

Key responsibilities

  • Continuous delivery of production-quality software features and systems via agentic development workflows, in which AI coding agents execute implementation while engineers lead specification, architecture, and quality assurance

Candidate requirements

  • At least 3 years professional software engineering experience in production environments
  • Experience participating in pull request review processes
  • Experience using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Windsurf, Cursor) in a professional setting
