Description

Software delivery remains trapped in inefficiency. Backlogs expand, cycle times span weeks, and "code review" frequently devolves into perfunctory approval to meet sprint deadlines. Teams struggle under the weight of integration hazards, fragile architectures, and ambiguous requirements. AI coding agents now produce viable code, yet only when supplied with exact specifications and rigorous oversight. The industry continues adding developers to keyboards rather than repairing the underlying system that transforms intention into dependable, production-ready software.

Trilogy has chosen a different approach. We operate an end-to-end agentic development workflow: engineers own research, specification, architecture, and quality control, while AI agents execute implementation. Specifications are crafted to be machine-executable by Claude Code, test-first and precisely scoped to contain impact. The outcome is continuous deployment of production features with significantly compressed feedback cycles, reduced integration uncertainty, and elevated confidence in correctness before any code reaches main.

This position is for the engineer who prefers designing systems and validating correctness over processing tickets. You will allocate approximately 10–20% to research and technical exploration, understanding existing behavior, constraints, and stakeholder objectives; 40–50% translating that knowledge into exact, test-driven, agent-compatible specifications and architectural choices; and 40–50% coordinating and overseeing implementation. You own what deploys: no silent breakage, no vague specs, no deflecting accountability to the agent.

You will join a team that regards specification as a deliverable, review as an engineering practice, and delivery as the sole metric that matters. If you are motivated by refined system design, precise scoping, and uncompromising validation—and you already employ tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or ChatGPT in your everyday work—you will excel here. Bring your architectural expertise, your TDD discipline, and your exacting standards for code quality. If this resonates with you, step forward and lead the evolution of software construction. Apply and demonstrate how you orchestrate agents to deliver production-ready results at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Technical Discovery: Examining existing systems, stakeholder requirements, and data sources to comprehend the problem domain and technical limitations
  • Technical Specification: Translating research outcomes and stakeholder needs into exact, executable technical specifications tailored for agentic coding assistants (primarily Claude Code) using spec-driven development methodology
  • AI Implementation: Directing AI coding agents to execute specifications, performing continuous review and validation of agent-generated code, and merging validated changes into the production codebase

Key responsibilities

  • Continuous delivery of production-quality software features and systems through agentic development workflows, where AI coding agents perform implementation while engineers control specification, architecture, and quality assurance

Candidate requirements

  • At least 3 years professional software engineering experience in production environments
  • Experience participating in pull request review processes
  • Experience using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Windsurf, Cursor) in a professional setting
