Description

Ready to transform founder brainwaves into strategic action instead of endless ticket queues?

This is not a roadmap role. It's a position for a strategic thinker who writes with precision, makes decisions with conviction, and drives direction through compelling documents. Your mission isn't execution—it's crystallizing what should exist and why, before development begins. You'll integrate with a founder's thought process and emerge with frameworks, options, and recommendations that define how an AI-native product evolves.

Trilogy powers Ephor.ai—a platform revolutionizing learning through intelligent agents, LLM orchestration, and real-time knowledge synthesis. This isn't another AI feature bolt-on. It's strategy-first software built at the intersection of cutting-edge AI capability and practical application. You'll operate at this frontier, collaborating with executives to frame critical decisions, sharpen product direction, and establish principles that enable autonomous execution.

Initiative is required. But more importantly, you'll need the judgment to deliver with impact—creating documents that catalyze action, not meetings that breed confusion.

If process-heavy PM work has diminished your impact and you're ready to write your way into strategic influence, this role represents the opportunity you've been seeking.

What you will be doing

  • Writing strategic product briefs that transform founder vision into multiple viable directions with clear tradeoffs, implications, and decisive paths forward.
  • Producing decision narratives that distill complex product decisions, contextualize stakes, and enable execution without additional meetings.
  • Developing durable frameworks ("BrainLifts") that codify evolving product principles, optimize AI/human collaboration, and scale institutional knowledge.
  • Identifying bold pivots based on user signals, internal constraints, and market shifts—supported by structured, compelling rationale.
  • Partnering with executives to challenge assumptions, question defaults, and advance product thinking through high-trust written collaboration.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing sprint boards, planning MVPs, or defining success with OKRs—this role transcends traditional execution.
  • Depending on weekly syncs or founder availability to progress—your writing is your primary influence mechanism.
  • Implementing superficial "AI features"—your expertise must fundamentally shape the product architecture, not merely accelerate it.
  • Diluting strategy into documentation—your work embodies the thinking itself, not merely its artifact.
  • Simply delivering what's requested—you'll frequently need to propose superior alternatives.

Key responsibilities

Use strategic writing to transform ambiguity into product clarity—shaping direction, influencing decisions, and enabling AI-native execution without process overhead.

Candidate requirements

  • 6+ years in product strategy, product management, or executive-level positions with ownership of the "what and why," not merely the "how and when."
  • 2+ years directly supporting a founder or executive in high-trust, unstructured environments, translating evolving vision into actionable product strategy.
  • Advanced, hands-on AI fluency—demonstrated experience building with LLMs or applying AI to accelerate product development, with knowledge of MCP, agentic workflows, and orchestration frameworks.
  • 2–3 examples of strategic writing demonstrating structured thinking, original framing, and clear articulation of tradeoffs (e.g., briefs, narratives, reframes).
  • Proven success thriving in low-structure environments and creating clarity from ambiguity—without requiring consensus or permission.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence through documents, not proximity—building trust through clarity rather than control.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication—this role demands document-led, not meeting-led, leadership.
  • Availability for 2–3 hours of daily overlap with U.S. business hours.
