Head of AI Products   $400,000 USD/year

Description

This position is for a product leader prepared to apply AI toward reshaping the fundamentals of education. You will take ownership of our Education vertical and drive the mission of enabling students to learn with greater effectiveness. The focus is on creating systemic transformation rather than iterating on surface-level features.

Your accountability will center on a strategic outcome, not procedural oversight. You will define the objective for our Education vertical and have full authority to pursue it. You will personally craft the master "Brain Lift" that captures our strategy and establishes the portfolio roadmap, ensuring all educational products function as a unified system. Leading a team of capable Product Owners, you will operate as a player-coach, staying engaged in the most mission-critical initiatives.

Traditional one-size-fits-all education fails individual learners. We are building a new model grounded in learning science and AI to provide genuinely individualized instruction. Our work demonstrates that education can be both deeply personalized and profoundly effective.

This is not a conventional VP of Product role. If you favor process management over outcome ownership, or prefer to delegate foundational strategic work, this position will not suit you. We seek a leader who is rigorously analytical, thinks from first principles, and is unwavering in pursuit of the defined objective.

You will guide a talented team of product owners and collaborate directly with the founders to direct the entire vertical. Success will be measured straightforwardly: demonstrable, data-driven evidence that your strategy produced measurable improvements in student learning. If you are prepared for this level of scope and accountability, we should connect.

What you will be doing

  • Architecting Domain Knowledge: Take ownership of the master "Education Domain BrainLift" and continuously refine it, distilling team and market intelligence into a unified strategy that drives alignment across the vertical on critical product choices.
  • Steering the Portfolio Roadmap: Convert the Domain BrainLift into an outcome-focused roadmap spanning the full product portfolio. Define the work sequence that generates compounding value and articulate the strategic rationale guiding your team's execution.
  • Player-Coach Leadership: Function as a player-coach by running your own OODA loops on high-stakes outcomes to establish the execution standard, while coaching your team through review of their iterations and refinement of their insights to ensure unified portfolio delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving solely as a people manager. Your core responsibility is leading the vertical's strategy and modeling execution excellence, not simply overseeing headcount, budgets, and administrative processes.
  • Implementing a strategy delivered from above. You are responsible for personally authoring the comprehensive, unifying strategy for the entire vertical, synthesizing insights from the organization upward.
  • Producing static, fixed-horizon roadmaps. Your portfolio roadmap is dynamic. You will navigate the portfolio with flexibility, integrating weekly insights from both your team's iterations and your own work.
  • Running a "feature factory." Your success hinges on realizing the vertical's strategic outcome. This demands fostering genuine cross-product integration, not merely increasing feature output in isolated streams.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a product leadership role where you personally shaped the product vision and owned the core problem-solution hypothesis
  • Previous experience launching at least one successful product (not just a feature or a module) that reached real users (not internal tools) from scratch (not joining partway through the development process) to launch (achieving at least $1 million in revenue)
  • Professional experience using AI in your daily work (e.g., research, analysis, synthesis, strategy)
