Description

Are you a product leader prepared to apply AI in transforming educational outcomes? We are seeking someone to own and direct our Education vertical with the mission of helping students achieve more effective learning. This position centers on catalyzing systemic transformation, not merely shipping incremental improvements.

This position is characterized by ownership of a strategic outcome rather than oversight of process. You will define the objective for our Education vertical and be empowered to deliver it. You will directly author the master "Brain Lift" that encodes our strategy and shapes the portfolio roadmap unifying all our educational products. You will guide a team of capable Product Owners, functioning as a player-coach who stays deeply engaged in the most critical initiatives.

The conventional one-size-fits-all educational model does not serve individual learners. Our method builds a new system grounded in learning science and AI to provide genuinely individualized instruction. We are demonstrating that education can be both profoundly personal and remarkably effective.

This position differs from a conventional VP of Product role. If you prefer overseeing process to owning outcomes, or wish to delegate fundamental strategic responsibilities, this will not be the right match. We seek a leader who is rigorously analytical, a clear first-principles thinker, and unyielding in pursuing the defined objective.

You will guide a capable team of product owners and collaborate directly with the founders to direct the entire vertical. The metric of your success is straightforward: clear, data-supported evidence that your strategy measurably enhanced how students learn. If you are prepared for accountability and challenge at this scale, we should speak.

What you will be doing

  • Architecting Domain Knowledge: Own and refine the master "Education Domain BrainLift," synthesizing market and team insights into one cohesive strategy that aligns the entire vertical around critical product decisions.
  • Driving Portfolio Roadmap: Convert the Domain BrainLift into an outcome-focused roadmap spanning the full product portfolio. You will establish the work sequence that generates compounding value and delivers the strategic rationale guiding your team's execution.
  • Player-Coach Execution: Operate as a player-coach: execute your own OODA loops on pivotal outcomes to establish the execution standard, while coaching your team by reviewing their iterations and refining their insights to ensure cohesive portfolio delivery.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as a pure people manager. Your core function is leading the vertical's strategy and establishing the execution standard, not simply overseeing headcount, budgets, and administrative process.
  • Implementing a top-down strategy delivered to you. You are expected to personally author the comprehensive, unified strategy for the entire vertical, synthesizing insights from the ground up.
  • Producing static, long-horizon roadmaps. Your portfolio roadmap is a dynamic document. You will guide the portfolio with agility, informed by weekly insights from your team's iterations and your own work.
  • Managing a "feature factory." Your success is measured by delivering the strategic outcome for the vertical. This demands genuine cross-pollination across products, not merely increasing feature output in isolated silos.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in a product leadership role where you personally shaped the product vision and owned the core problem-solution hypothesis
  • Previous experience launching at least one successful product (not just a feature or a module) that reached real users (not internal tools) from scratch (not joining partway through the development process) to launch (achieving at least $1 million in revenue)
  • Professional experience using AI in your daily work (e.g., research, analysis, synthesis, strategy)
