Alpha is opening a flagship campus in this city, and we're looking for a leader who already knows Houston's educational landscape inside and out. You will oversee 15 plus Guides who provide coaching and motivation while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No traditional teaching responsibilities. High-impact execution. Your objective: guarantee every student loves coming to school, achieves learning velocity twice that of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This position is not a conventional Principal role. You will uphold rigorous standards without exception, drive decisions with data, and establish Houston's premier school from the ground up.

What you will be doing
- Establish Alpha's flagship Houston campus: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100 plus students from opening day with operational excellence in every area.
- Facilitate live life skills workshops for K through 12 students: Conduct compelling one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback exchange. Apply Alpha's established playbook to guarantee students develop skills conventional schools overlook while enjoying the experience.
- Drive every student toward 100 percent goal achievement: Create personalized motivational frameworks for each student. Deploy data-informed strategies to address resistance and sustain engagement with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student reaching their objectives.
- Develop Guides through targeted coaching: Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to pinpoint performance deficiencies. Provide precise, actionable guidance during coaching conversations and monitor progress. Maintain team accountability through logic and objectivity rather than empathy that undermines standards.
- Execute data-informed campus leadership: Evaluate performance across personnel, operations, parent engagement, and culture. Identify issues, perform root cause analysis, engage stakeholders, and deploy measurable interventions. Monitor every initiative and refine based on outcomes.
- Uphold excellence without exception: Establish and sustain Alpha's quality expectations for students and staff. Execute difficult decisions when performance does not meet standards. Model the benchmark of excellence across your campus.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field. Master's preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, business, or related field
- Direct experience building and managing teams of at least 15 people with full hiring and firing authority
- Deep knowledge of the Houston or wider Texas education landscape. This insight into local student needs, community dynamics, and competitive school environment is highly valuable to Alpha's Houston launch.
- Experience working with youth ages 5 through 14
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
- Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
- Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch
- Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff
- Able to relate to K through 12 students, understand their interests and culture, serve as a positive role model
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
