Education Program Manager   $200,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site locations: Beverly Hills, CA; La Jolla (San Diego), CA; Piedmont, CA; South Bay (LA), CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available)
  • $200,000 annually, paid weekly | Health, dental, and vision coverage from day one

The greatest support you can offer a student who achieves 99% is to decline calling it 100%. This isn't indifference—it's belief in their capacity to reach the mark, and lowering expectations represents the true disservice. If this reasoning resonates, continue reading. If it feels overly demanding, this position will likely prove challenging.

Students at Alpha don't passively attend lectures. They advance through adaptive applications at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your role ensures three commitments are fulfilled for every child in your group: genuine enthusiasm for learning, acceleration at 2x standard pace, and acquisition of skills beyond traditional academics. You simultaneously develop the Guides who uphold these commitments throughout your campus.

Data informs every choice, and daily work happens in person. You divide your time between your student cohort and the Guides under your leadership—applying identical standards to both: documented advancement without compromise. When a Guide's session underperforms, you skip the written report; instead, you observe, discuss, and resolve it before the day ends.

You'll witness reserved children presenting with poise to adults. You'll encounter students who previously "despised school" requesting to remain after hours. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained created these outcomes, because maintaining high expectations demonstrates your confidence in their ability to meet them.

You may be establishing a completely new campus and defining the foundational culture of the school. As operations mature, your emphasis transitions from startup execution to coaching leadership, cultivating the team that extends Alpha's approach across your territory.

If this appeals to you, submit your application now.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour in-person life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students covering subjects such as public speaking and concentration, using Alpha's established framework
  • Conducting daily motivational sessions that ensure 100% of students reach their weekly application goals through age-appropriate incentive systems including school currency and performance leaderboards
  • Developing Guides via direct observation, precise feedback, and practical training so they execute sessions with equivalent energy and exactness
  • Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to determine which students require intervention, then providing that intervention directly
  • Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating the coaching and motivational approaches you require from all Guides

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Students progress through adaptive applications; your responsibility is elevating the people who support them.
  • Delivering traditional classroom lectures. This role is 80% performance, 20% content expertise; if you prefer standing at a whiteboard, look elsewhere.
  • Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administration. A 99% score earns "not yet"—and you'll have organizational support to maintain that boundary.
  • Spending your day in an office processing documents. The majority of your time is direct engagement with students and Guides.
  • Waiting extended periods for performance feedback. Data is real-time in Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately.

Key responsibilities

Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and among the Guides you develop: every child develops passion for school, accelerates learning at 2x velocity, and cultivates genuine life skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's preferred; traditional teaching certifications are not desired)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or related area
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives
