Peak Performance Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

You have accomplished difficult things. You have operated within rigorous standards. You understand the distinction between effort and results. If you want to apply that experience where it shapes a young person's future, this position is designed for you.

Alpha School leverages AI-driven 1:1 instruction so students complete core academics in approximately two hours daily. This structure opens the remainder of the day for life-skills development, passion projects, and genuine growth. At our most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight. They require a credible mentor who can assess dynamics, establish expectations, and guide them through friction, distraction, and uncertainty.

This is not a conventional teaching position. You will not deliver lectures, assign grades, or develop curriculum. You will coach. You will facilitate structured life-skills sessions. You will analyze data to identify what limits a student's progress, then apply pressure with intention and precision until they execute.

If you possess an elite credential and a demonstrated history of elevating others' performance, we want to speak with you. Apply to contribute to a campus environment where students arrive prepared, develop authentic competencies, and surpass ambitious targets.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitate 1:1 and small-group coaching engagements that convert student ambitions into reliable execution and trackable outcomes
  • Leverage analytics and student objectives to identify obstacles and design ambitious, personalized accountability frameworks
  • Execute high-rigor life-skills workshops through authentic storytelling, guided reflection, and practical application, then evaluate mastery
  • Conduct daily opening sessions that establish culture, communicate high expectations, and prepare students before work begins
  • Build trusted mentor relationships with students and families through unwavering standards, reliability, and thoughtful judgment

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conduct classes, deliver lectures, or provide tutoring in a traditional instructor capacity
  • Develop curriculum, construct lesson plans, or evaluate student assignments
  • Supervise adults, oversee campus operations, or assume administrative leadership responsibilities
  • Compromise standards to secure short-term compliance or superficial progress

Key responsibilities

This role ensures that students at Alpha's most demanding campuses maintain exceptional motivation and accomplish sustained progress and life-skill proficiency through elite, high-standards coaching.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • At least one verifiable elite marker (athletics, academics, professional achievement, or elite coaching)
  • Proven experience in client-facing mentoring, coaching, or leadership that demonstrably improved others' performance
  • Confidence working in high-accountability settings with explicit standards and consistent follow-through
  • Capability to facilitate compelling, high-rigor group sessions and coach individuals with sound judgment
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) onsite at Alpha's Austin campus
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

  • Multiple elite markers with documented evidence of elevating standards and results
  • Experience applying data and analytics to inform coaching strategies and accountability systems
  • History in competitive firms, high-performing startups, or elite athletics organizations with rigorous performance cultures
