Lead Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site at an Alpha campus: Dallas, TX · Oklahoma City, OK · Austin, TX · Fort Worth, TX
  • $150,000 annual W2 salary, paid weekly. Health benefits begin day one.
  • Relocation assistance provided

The most respectful thing you can do for a student who achieved 99% is to tell them they fell short.

Not because perfection is the goal. Because believing in someone's capacity to improve is an act of profound respect.

Most schools shield students from failure. Alpha equips them for success. We believe genuine confidence doesn't come from lowering standards. It comes from helping students accomplish things they didn't think possible. This conviction informs everything we do.

Our approach is intentionally different. Students achieve academic mastery independently through AI-powered tools, which frees adults to focus on what truly transforms lives: coaching character, cultivating resilience, developing leadership, and instilling habits that produce exceptional results. We don't need people to deliver lessons. We need leaders who understand how to unlock human potential.

This position anchors that work. You'll train and develop the Guides who interact daily with students, shaping them into outstanding coaches instead of traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills sessions that leave lasting impressions. You'll analyze performance data to pinpoint where students or Guides are struggling and provide coaching to restore excellence. You'll also manage your own student cohort, embodying the very standards you uphold for others.

The impact multiplies. Each Guide you develop influences dozens of students. Every refinement you bring to campus culture reverberates across hundreds of young lives. Success here isn't defined by meetings attended or documents filed. It's defined by whether students grow more confident, disciplined, resilient, and capable because of the environment you shaped.

This role is not for someone looking to maintain the status quo in education. It's for someone who believes young people deserve better than compliance, time served, and mediocre expectations. If you're motivated by coaching others through hard challenges, leveraging data to inform smarter choices, and maintaining rigorous standards because you truly believe in people's potential, this is your environment.

Apply if you're prepared to create a culture where excellence is the baseline, coaching transforms lives, and students realize capabilities they never knew they had.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and coach Guides to implement Alpha's coaching model with reliability, enthusiasm, and rigorous standards.
  • Facilitate dynamic life skills workshops on topics including communication, attention, feedback, leadership, and resilience for students in grades K-8, following established frameworks.
  • Analyze student and Guide performance metrics to uncover coaching needs, eliminate obstacles, and produce tangible progress each week.
  • Conduct motivational sessions that empower every student to commit to stretch goals and consistently reach them.
  • Oversee your own student cohort while demonstrating the coaching quality and accountability expected across the team.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction. Students progress through core academics autonomously via AI-powered platforms.
  • Drafting lesson plans or developing curricula. Your focus is outstanding coaching, not creating teaching materials.
  • Controlling classrooms with lectures, worksheets, or behavioral management systems. Students direct their own learning; you coach the habits that enable success.
  • Softening standards to sidestep tough conversations. Rigorous expectations and authentic belief in student potential are inseparable.
  • Defining success by busyness rather than impact. Outcomes take priority over activity.

Key responsibilities

Cultivate a coaching-driven culture in which outstanding Guides reliably produce students who are enthusiastic about school, progress academically ahead of pace, and acquire the resilience, leadership, and life skills necessary to flourish long after graduation.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to work on-site in Dallas, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Austin, TX; or Fort Worth, TX (relocation assistance available).
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years leading adults in education, learning and development, youth leadership, coaching, or similar high-performance contexts.
  • Proven success managing teams of five or more, encompassing hiring, coaching, performance management, and challenging accountability discussions.
  • Direct experience working with children aged 5-14 in educational, developmental, athletic, or youth leadership capacities.
  • History of building, launching, scaling, or substantially improving a program, team, school, business, or initiative.
  • Demonstrated capability using performance data and metrics to identify issues, set priorities, and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline.
  • Background coaching athletics, facilitating outdoor or experiential education, overseeing camps, youth programs, or comparable cohort-focused organizations.
  • Experience launching or managing innovative education, EdTech, tutoring, nonprofit, or learning initiatives beyond conventional classroom instruction.
  • Record of exceptional personal achievement in academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or leadership roles.
  • Deep belief that education should produce capable, resilient, self-directed young people rather than merely transmit academic information.
