Key responsibilities

Ensure every campus delivers a premium, brand-aligned, and pedagogically supportive physical experience by creating and executing modular design systems that scale with quality.

Description

Some environments just feel right. You can’t help but figure out why. If you're the kind of designer who sees both the details and the system, who thrives in real spaces more than on mood boards, and who believes beautiful, functional environments can and should scale, this is the role that puts your instincts to work.

We’re building a national network of 2 Hour Learning campuses. These are places where kids compress a full school day into two hours of focused academics, then spend the rest of the day exploring passions, building life skills, and moving their bodies. Your job is to make those places unforgettable. As the execution owner of interior environments across our network, you’ll define modular standards for layout, FF&E, playspaces, and wayfinding. You’ll ensure they’re executed with precision at every site. You’ll walk campuses, spot gaps others miss, scope upgrades, and see them through from budget to install.

Unlike typical design roles, this one isn’t siloed from the action. You won’t hand off drawings and hope for the best. You’ll be there, fixing the install, training the vendor, and capturing the feedback that improves the next rollout. If you’re ready to turn your design craft into national impact, this is it.

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing and delivering multi-site environments in education, retail, hospitality, or co-working
  • Portfolio of real-world work that balances aesthetic quality with operational practicality
  • Demonstrated experience creating repeatable, standards-based design systems, not just bespoke spaces
  • Direct oversight of vendor execution, including install quality and timeline management
  • Strong documentation and cross-functional communication skills, especially with non-design stakeholders
  • Willing and able to travel frequently, 50-75% of the time, across the U.S.
  • Based in the U.S. and eligible to work without visa sponsorship
