Role Description
Are you a finance systems expert and a seasoned auditor or controller? When you find key discrepancies while auditing statements or reviewing business performance reports, do you insist on diving into the ERP system to find the key issue? When you see a manual process that causes your finance and accounting teams to struggle, do you leverage the stock functionality of your ERP to simplify away manual work? If you answer yes to these questions, we want you.
You will be part of Trilogy’s finance function, which today runs over 100 acquired software companies and continues to grow. We don’t run each company separately. Instead, we create a standard best practice for each task and process with a single, 100% remote team. That makes this job dramatically different. You will learn more in 1 month here than in a year working anywhere else.
Most companies consider being global and 100% remote a liability and are currently suffering through a transition forced on them by the pandemic. We’re different. In the early 2000s, we recognized that going global and remote was “The Future of Work” and went all-in. It is true that moving to a global, remote environment is really hard - you need to completely replace synchronous processes with asynchronous ones, verbal communication with written, and ambiguous goals with clear task assignment and quality expectations. But once you do all that, you can unlock a 24/7, 4-shift, 4x pace of execution.
You don’t need to be an asynchronous work expert. You simply need to be hard-working, hands-on, and have solid accounting and finance fundamentals (US GAAP or IFRS), and we will teach you the rest. What you will be doing
Crossover acquires a new software or IT services company every week. You will play a significant role in the acquisition of some of these organizations and will be expected to lead the transformation of an acquired company in your field of financial expertise, within a 90-day time frame.
One of our key challenges is simplifying, standardizing and automating our finance processes. You will have to take immediate ownership, establish metrics and structure improvement goals to streamline the processes assigned to you, achieving industry excellence in performance and business value delivered.
We also expect you to be an expert at setting stretch goals and to drive metrics-based weekly productivity improvements in a 100% remote working environment. You will continuously improve the quality of your team output in a centralized structure; hiring, coaching and managing up to 100+ individual contributors. You will leverage your financial expertise, knowledge, and judgment to set a personal standard for excellence.
It is critical that you are an experienced professional with excellent English communication skills, and can effectively manage senior relationships.
What you will NOT be doing
- Randomly deciding what work activities to perform on any given day
- Spending hours in meetings each day talking about the work to be performed
- Solely focusing on process improvements
- Dealing with HR/administrative burdens, like annual performance reviews

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to settle into a routine. It’s for someone who wants to break the routine entirely. In this role, you'll investigate what slows us down, document the process, and help turn it into an automated workflow. You won’t be asked to “just do the work” — you’ll be asked if the work needs to exist at all. Over time, the percentage of your role that’s manual will shrink, freeing you up to take on more important tasks.
You’ll be part of a small, elite central finance team that supports a portfolio of education businesses globally. That means learning across different business models, accounting challenges, and automation opportunities.
