WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Our software factory is designed to deliver great quality at high pace. We expect that our QA automation engineers perform thorough testing activity regimens for multiple products and technologies and deliver work to a high level of quality.

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be working with the world’s top 1% talent people and be part of a team responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our products by using the latest technologies and toolsets. Your work quality is measured through the First Time Acceptance Rate, which means passing the quality bar set by your leadership team.

Your daily activities will include setting up the test environments, automating test cases and performing manual tests if necessary.

 
ONLINE HIRING EVENT



A hiring event is a scheduled online event where all our relevant testing relating to a role is conducted on the same day. Submissions received during the event are graded the following week, and successful candidates notified if they have progressed to the next round which is an online interview with a Hiring Manager. Select the option when applying to receive information about a hiring event.

BOOTCAMP PROGRAM

To apply for a role at Crossover, you will go through a series of online tests, usually during the online hiring event. If you pass these tests, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in our four-full-time week Crossover University “Bootcamp” training program. This is elite training taught by our top instructors.

It is offered as soon as you want to get started. You will be compensated for 40 hrs/ week at the hourly rate for the role you are applying to. Crossover University is an excellent opportunity to learn about our culture, expectations, tools, processes, and procedures. It's an intensive and demanding program, but every graduate is guaranteed a job at the end of it.

 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver a consistent high-quality software Testing services and ensure a goal of achieving 99% FTAR (First Time Acceptance Rate)

Automation Testing:
  • Write test automation scripts following the defined internal standards
  • Use multiples platforms like Jira, Git, Testrail and VDI2
  • Debug and maintain test scripts
  • Unit, integration, system, and regression testing
  • Test documentation
  • Integrating automation/performance tools into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo)
Performance Testing:
  • Translate non-functional requirements into performance test scripts
  • Create performance test plans, baselines, execute planned tests
  • Adhere to performance metrics (CPU, memory, IO, Network, etc)
  • Implement performance tests early in development using service virtualization, mocks or stubbing
Proactively bringing issues and problems to leadership attention

Constantly generating, proposing and implementing solutions to increase productivity

 
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields

3+ years of QA experience: Test cases automation and documentation

3+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java, C# or NodeJS

2+ Test Automation tools experience, such as Protractor, Selenium, RestAssured, TestComplete, Appium and JMeter

Be knowledgeable about HTML, DOM, API, Git and Jasmine

Solid understanding of QA processes, best practices, testing techniques and methodologies

Good proficiency in the English language

Nice to have:
  • TypeScript language and Protractor test automation background
  • Hands-on experience profiling web pages
  • Experience in transforming use cases into performance scripts using industry standard tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, and Gatling
  • Experience using industry standard APM tools such as NewRelic, AppyDynamics, DynaTrace
  • Solid understanding of QA processes, best practices, testing techniques, and methodologies
  • Competency on the current software development practices and tools, including virtual environments, source control, remote development, issue tracking, product build and installation

  • What are the main processes and tools a new QA Automation engineer needs to be aware of in order to start performing adequately at Crossover?

    There are some key components to deliver high-quality testing services at Crossover, such as the Jira and TestRail processes and tools we use like Github, Jasmine, and Protractor tools. You will get to know every important topic to be a great QA Automation engineer at Crossover during our 4 weeks Bootcamp program.

  • Can you share some of the common QA testing frameworks you use at Crossover?

    We know how essential are the testing frameworks for a successful automated testing process - as they help lower maintenance cost, maximize test coverage and improve overall test efficiency. We have developed frameworks that will be available for you such as for Cucumber, Specflow, Protractor, and CodedUI.

  • What can you comment about code review process at Crossover?

    Code review is a mandatory activity for all automation work. We have clear guidelines and code review rules that each team member needs to comply. As an example on code specific, we have defined how to identify and avoid anti-patterns by indicating the maximum number of lines, fields, and methods are allowed.

  • How practical is this mandatory 4 weeks training for QA Automation engineer? Are we going to experience real day-to-day issues?

    Our campers will be trained with real-life assignments. Just to give you an idea about the QA Automation program, you will start using JIRA and TestRail for particular projects and Jenkins Access to build jobs. You should also be reviewing code and taking it until the merger. Additionally, you will be getting a backlog of work and writing scripts.

  • How do you drive a team of QA engineers, located in different cities and time-zones, to be productive and deliver quality testing services?
