Description
Nobody has written down how this Amdocs production environment really behaves when things break. You will find out, then rebuild it so teams can break it on purpose and learn to fix it before a real incident does it for them.
Totogi needs a production-like copy of a live Amdocs environment, close enough to the real one that a failure on the copy looks, sounds and logs like a failure in production. This is telecom BSS (Business Support Systems) work, and much of how the pieces connect isn't written down anywhere. A typical Tuesday might be tracing one Control-M job back through its logs to the interface that feeds it, then documenting what you found.
The work moves in three phases. First, you map one domain of production: an application, interface, batch or tooling area. Next, you build that slice on Linux/Unix, with failure scenarios that behave like the real thing. Then you hand it over, and the phase isn't done until the receiving team solves a scenario without you. After that, you take the next domain.
The reward is a quiet one. A team you've never worked with sits down, hits a failure you scripted, and fixes it on the first try. On-site is preferred in Frisco, TX; Atlanta, GA; or Overland Park, KS. Remote works if you're in the US and can work US time zones. It's 40 hours a week. If you have hands-on Amdocs production experience and would rather take a system apart than keep one running, apply.
Candidate requirements
- Hands-on work in at least one Amdocs production environment, and you can name the modules or components you supported
- A production incident you personally resolved across application, database, middleware, network, batch or system layers
- Production use of at least one enterprise monitoring or operations tool, such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, ServiceNow, Control-M, Autosys or an equivalent
- Production Linux/Unix administration
- Scripts you wrote in shell, Python or Perl for configuration, deployment or troubleshooting
- A non-production environment (staging, pre-prod, disaster recovery or training) you built to replicate a production system
- Technical documentation or knowledge transfer you delivered to Operations, DevOps or Application Support teams
- Based in the US and able to work 40 hours a week in US time zones
