Description

  • Onsite position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • 150,000 USD annual compensation, distributed weekly

If you have moved beyond conventional schooling models and resist compromising standards to avoid conflict, this opportunity offers a distinct alternative. You will guide students and staff toward rigorous goals using objective metrics and defined benchmarks, not traditional lectures or curriculum design.

Alpha School is developing an AI-enhanced educational framework in which students complete core academics in two hours daily, then dedicate afternoons to developing practical life competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and exacting: students enjoy school, achieve learning velocity double that of peers, and acquire essential life skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will remain directly involved. You will facilitate one-hour life skills sessions, conduct structured motivation activities that drive student progress in academic applications, and provide Guides with specific feedback and actionable development steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a removed administrative role. You will answer for results, adherence to operational playbooks, and unwavering quality standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus environment where excellence is the baseline, submit your application and demonstrate how you maintain high expectations without justification.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 students by preparing and implementing activities in strict accordance with playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation activities designed to accelerate student advancement in academic applications and goal attainment
  • Monitor Guides during delivery and provide standards-aligned coaching with specific improvement directives and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery benchmarks, even when challenging
  • Partner daily with campus personnel to guarantee consistent execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic content through traditional classroom instruction
  • Develop lesson plans or design instructional curriculum
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery benchmarks or adjust targets to create artificial achievement
  • Operate remotely from administrative duties while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Work authorization for Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time onsite at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to rigorous outcomes
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Track record coaching or directing adult performance using explicit standards and accountability
  • Effective verbal communication capabilities for K–8 student populations
  • Data-informed decision-making proficiency (leveraging metrics/analytics to establish direction and enforce standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without exception
