Director de Programas Educativos   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • 150,000 USD annual compensation, distributed weekly

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you are unwilling to compromise standards to avoid conflict, this opportunity will stand apart. You will guide children and adults toward ambitious goals using evidence and explicit benchmarks—not traditional instruction or classroom lectures.

Alpha School is developing an AI-driven education model in which students complete core academic work in two hours daily, then dedicate their afternoons to cultivating real-world capabilities. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, learn twice as fast as their peers, and develop practical life skills. This position ensures that commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 student at our Dorado campus.

You will remain operationally engaged. You will facilitate one-hour life skills workshops, conduct structured motivation sessions that advance student progress in academic applications, and coach Guides through direct observation with actionable improvement steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a passive administrative role. You will be responsible for measurable outcomes, adherence to established protocols, and maintaining rigorous standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and cultivate a campus culture where results are earned through disciplined effort, submit your application and demonstrate how you sustain high expectations without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops to K–8 students by preparing and executing activities in strict accordance with established playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to propel students forward in academic applications and achieve defined targets
  • Observe Guides during instruction and provide standards-based coaching with explicit improvement actions and consistent follow-up
  • Apply objective, metrics-informed judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work closely with campus personnel daily to ensure reliable delivery of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver academic content or provide tutoring in a traditional classroom setting
  • Develop lesson plans or design instructional curriculum
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery standards or adjust goals to create artificial success
  • Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Work authorization in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience coaching individuals to ambitious outcomes
  • Experience working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or managing adult performance with defined standards and accountability mechanisms
  • Effective verbal communication skills for K–8 audiences
  • Capacity for data-driven decision-making (leveraging metrics and analytics to guide actions and maintain standards)
  • High-standards orientation with comfort delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
