SVP Operations   $400,000 USD/year

Description

2 Hour Learning is opening 25–30 new school campuses in the next six months. That launch plan includes physical campuses, digital infrastructure, operating systems — and the financial model behind all of it.

We’re hiring for multiple SVP-level roles, each focused on one operational track:

  • Regulatory approvals
  • Campus build-out
  • Onboarding + systems
  • Financial operations

This is a generalist funnel with a specialist fit. We’ll route you based on experience and spike — but the bar is the same: structured thinking, extreme ownership, and startup-speed delivery.

ABOUT 2 HOUR LEARNING

2 Hour Learning powers Alpha Schools, NextGen Academy, GT School, Texas Sports Academy, and Unbound Academy — a growing family of K–12 schools and education products built around one proven idea: students can achieve a full year of academic growth in just two focused hours per day. The rest of the day is theirs — for sailing, sports, public speaking, or game design.

Our platform combines real-time dashboards, curriculum recommendations, and feedback tools — giving students and guides the structure they need to go fast, and the space they need to grow.

We’re private equity-backed, with long-term funding and a mandate to scale. Charter applications are live. New campuses are rolling out. The model works. Now we’re building the infrastructure to match.

WHY THIS TEAM?

This is a rare opportunity for post-consulting operators to lead zero-to-one execution — not advise from the sidelines.

You’ll have:

  • Full ownership of a launch-critical domain
  • The ability to move fast — with capital, proof, and a mandate
  • Direct exposure to the founder, functional leads, and national launch scope
  • A seat at the table where real operational decisions get made

ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT?

If you’ve ever looked at a plan and thought, “This would move twice as fast and 10× cleaner if I were running it,” — this is your chance to prove it.

What you will be doing

Depending on your background, you may lead:

  • Regulatory Operations — securing state and local approvals
  • Campus Expansion — managing construction, vendors, and timelines
  • Student Systems & Support — onboarding, provisioning, SLAs, change management
  • Financial Operations — owning budgets, brainlifts, financial models, and reporting

In all cases, you’ll operate cross-functionally and own delivery. This is not an advisory role. You’ll ship results.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Following a playbook — you’ll write one
  • Waiting for consensus — you’ll lead with clarity
  • Managing one site or workstream — you’ll run parallel launches
  • Working from a distance — this is high-visibility, high-responsibility
  • Handing off the hard parts — you’ll be the one making the call

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver outcomes in your operational track — on time, on target, and without excuses. We’ll route you to the best-fit pillar, but your domain is yours to own.

Candidate requirements

We’re hiring across multiple ops verticals. All require speed, clarity, structured thinking, and the ability to execute with intensity.

You should bring:

  • Experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm (MBB or equivalent such as Deloitte S&O, Strategy&, EY-Parthenon, LEK, etc.)
  • 10+ years of operational leadership in regulated, scaled, or launch-critical environments
  • A clear spike in one or more of the following:
    • Navigating public approvals or permitting workflows
    • Leading physical site launches, vendor execution, and timelines
    • Running onboarding, provisioning, or internal ops with SLAs
    • Owning budgets, forecasts, financial modeling, and reporting across entities
  • Comfort using AI tools to reduce friction and accelerate delivery
  • U.S. work authorization and availability to travel ~25% (about 1 week/month)
