General Manager   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most virtual schools confuse access with excellence. They deliver online classes. They do not deliver outcomes.

GT School is built differently. We serve Gifted & Talented K–8 students through AI-powered academics and high-standard mentorship. Now we are scaling our virtual program to ensure families can achieve GT-level acceleration from anywhere. This role exists to build a virtual school experience that is rigorous, trusted, and measurably superior.

You will own the full operating system of the virtual program. That includes student experience design, advisor performance management, cohort interventions, and parent trust. There is no mature playbook waiting for you. You will run diagnostics, make fast adjustments, step into live programming when needed, and design the structures that make 3× learning outcomes repeatable.

This is a builder role for someone who wants a scoreboard. Retention, acceleration, parent confidence, and visible student wins are the metrics. If you want autonomy, complexity, and clear accountability, this is your mandate.

What you will be doing

  • Designing and continuously refining the end-to-end virtual student experience to drive acceleration, competition, and belonging
  • Reviewing student performance, advisor quality, and parent sentiment weekly to diagnose gaps and implement fast adjustments
  • Owning performance management of the 3× learning model, identifying XP gaps and building systems to keep students on pace
  • Partnering with advisors to execute cohort-level interventions and proactive parent communication before issues escalate
  • Building advisor onboarding, calibration, and coaching systems using session recordings, dashboards, and performance metrics

What you will NOT be doing

  • Maintaining a static program with fixed routines and slow decision cycles
  • Operating in passive oversight while others identify performance issues
  • Optimizing for attendance instead of measurable academic acceleration
  • Producing analysis that does not translate into visible changes in student experience or advisor behavior

Key responsibilities

Build and operate a scalable virtual school program that consistently delivers 3× learning outcomes, earns parent trust, and retains families through clear, celebrated student progress.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven ownership experience running a virtual school or online education program end to end
  • Teaching or instructional background with direct exposure to learning delivery (in-person, online, or blended)
  • Strong diagnostic ability using dashboards, session recordings, and feedback loops to identify root causes and drive solutions
  • Experience leading remote teams with clear standards, accountability, and follow-through
  • Strong parent communication skills with a track record of proactive, trust-building messaging

Nice to have

  • Experience building engagement systems such as competitions, leaderboards, or community rituals that drive sustained student effort
  • Background in innovative or AI-enabled learning models
  • Experience designing and running measurable staff enablement programs including onboarding and calibration systems
