Alpha is building the Stanford of K-12 education. We are a private equity-backed EdTech startup with a life-changing value proposition for students and plans to expand rapidly. We make three promises to students and their families: students will love school, learn 3-5x faster through adaptive learning apps and learning science principles, and learn valuable life skills to supplement their academic training.

In this role, you will map the content and skills needed for our high school students to ace the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. Then, you'll compare that to our current curricula and identify gaps. Next comes the fun part! You'll find the very best resources to deliver that missing content - testing hundreds of apps, games, and online videos to find the most effective and engaging options!

What you will be doing

  • Identifying the knowledge necessary to master standardized tests (SAT, ACT, AP exams)
  • Researching educational materials that teach that information 

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching classes
  • Building lesson plans

Key responsibilities

  • Success in this role will be measured by the percentage of students who score 1500+ on the SAT and a 4+ on at least three AP exams.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any STEM subject (science, tech, engineering, math, or a related subject) from a Top 20 university
  • 2+ years of experience tutoring AP test prep strategies
  • Experience holding a high standard for high-achieving students 
  • Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to relocate to Austin, TX

Nice to have

A Masters degree / JD is preferred, but not required
