Description

If you've ever stood on undeveloped land and envisioned a fully functional school—alarms wired, inspectors satisfied, students in classrooms—then executed that vision from the ground up, this role converts that expertise into repeatable velocity.

2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide network of private schools designed to deliver a complete academic day in just two hours. Our learning model depends on matching instructional speed with physical execution speed. Your mandate will span site evaluation through certificate of occupancy. You will own the full lifecycle of our new construction: from feasibility and permitting to construction management and final handover. This is hands-on work, not hypothetical—real properties, real deadlines, real consequences.

This is not a people-management position. This is an execution position. You will define scope, establish sequencing, remove obstacles, and deliver complex builds with rigor. You will collaborate directly with Real Estate, Legal, Finance, and Campus Operations, embedding structure and urgency at every interface. We are not seeking a project coordinator. We need someone who builds. Someone with an action-first mindset, fluency in AI-augmented workflows, and demonstrated success converting limitations into completed projects.

Ready to deliver the fastest school launches in the nation? Let's begin.

What you will be doing

  • Owning delivery of ground-up campus construction — from undeveloped land to certificate of occupancy — in multiple U.S. markets.
  • Producing feasibility analyses, budget projections, and permitting risk evaluations to inform site selection decisions.
  • Developing milestone-based construction schedules and delivery roadmaps, orchestrating internal and external stakeholders.
  • Navigating permitting processes and regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions — forecasting delays and eliminating obstacles.
  • Engaging and managing vendor performance — with defined scopes, service-level agreements, and clear escalation protocols.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Waiting passively for consensus — this role drives from the front, not from behind a conference table.
  • Applying a standardized template — every site introduces distinct zoning ordinances, fire regulations, and design requirements. Flexibility is essential.
  • Delegating execution responsibility to internal teams — you are the accountable owner, not a message relay.
  • Spending extended periods in planning mode — your instinct is to move quickly, resolve blockers, and establish direction without exhaustive data.
  • Maintaining a nine-to-five schedule — this is a high-impact, high-intensity role. The mission is critical. The commitment reflects that reality.

Key responsibilities

Deliver fully functional school campuses on schedule and within budget — beginning with raw land, concluding with operational facilities and enrolled students.

Candidate requirements

  • Based in the U.S. and authorized to work without sponsorship requirements.
  • Available to travel up to 60%, including site inspections, vendor coordination, and regulatory engagements.
  • Has successfully led a minimum of three ground-up construction projects from pre-construction phases to completion.
  • Established history managing complete build cycles in multiple U.S. cities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of permitting, zoning regulations, and regulatory approval workflows across varied jurisdictions.
  • Confirmed capability to oversee vendors, budgets, and schedules in high-stakes environments.
  • Effective cross-functional communicator who secures alignment among legal, real estate, finance, and operations teams.
  • Proficient in leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Prepared to commit 40-60 hours per week with urgency, professionalism, and full accountability.

Nice to have

  • Background in education, healthcare, retail, or other sectors involving standardized buildout programs.
  • Previous experience in elite consulting firms, development organizations, or construction leadership capacities.
  • Working knowledge of fire code, ADA compliance, and licensing standards for institutional facilities.
