Do you believe literacy is every child's right, yet find yourself frustrated by systems that fail to unlock their potential?

Alpha School demonstrates that dramatic literacy gains don't demand traditional 6-hour school days. Our 2-Hour Learning framework combines AI-adaptive platforms with specialized instruction to produce accelerated reading outcomes. Your role: create and implement workshops that yield quantifiable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for students in early elementary grades.

This position focuses on evidence-based instruction, technology integration, and constructing a reading curriculum that scales to thousands of learners—not administrative paperwork.

Life in Dorado: Coastal beauty within minutes. A thriving bilingual environment offering convenient proximity to San Juan's arts and culture alongside the tranquility of smaller-town living.

Drive instruction. Embrace growth. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on phonics mastery, comprehension development, and fluency building
  • Creating personalized motivational programming leveraging gamified literacy benchmarks
  • Evaluating student performance metrics to optimize instructional approaches and generate actionable feedback
  • Partnering with engineering teams to assess and improve AI-powered literacy platforms informed by classroom evidence
  • Producing scalable, AI-integrated curriculum materials enabling early elementary learners to reach grade-level reading proficiency

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering traditional front-of-room lectures — learning occurs through self-directed AI applications rather than passive listening
  • Implementing standardized curricula or scripted lessons — you construct your workshops independently
  • Instructing in core academic subjects — your scope is reading workshop facilitation and motivational support, not mathematics or science instruction
  • Managing behavior or providing childcare — each session targets specific learning goals with defined measurable outcomes
  • Operating independently — you engage directly with engineers developing the AI platforms your students interact with every day

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that every K-2 student under your guidance achieves at or above grade-level reading proficiency through AI-enhanced workshops that transform phonics instruction into engaging, trackable, and enjoyable learning experiences

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree accompanied by either a Master's degree in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (necessary for effective student and family communication)
  • 2+ years of experience delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
  • Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, organize student groupings, and develop differentiated instruction independently of pre-written curricula
  • Experience working with AI/adaptive learning technologies and interpreting student behavioral data
  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico without employer sponsorship
  • Commitment to on-site work in Dorado, Puerto Rico
