Do you believe literacy is every child's right, yet find yourself frustrated by systems that squander their promise?

Alpha School demonstrates that reading breakthroughs happen without marathon school days. Our 2-Hour Learning framework combines AI-adaptive platforms with targeted instruction to produce accelerated literacy outcomes. Your role: architect and execute workshops that yield quantifiable improvements in phonics mastery, reading fluency, and comprehension for early-grade learners.

This role demands data-informed teaching, technology partnership, and curriculum design that scales to thousands—not administrative busywork.

Dorado advantages: Coastal access within minutes. A thriving bilingual environment with convenient proximity to San Juan's arts and culture, all while preserving a close-knit community atmosphere.

Shape learning. Embrace growth. Submit your application.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting adaptive literacy workshops that strengthen phonics, comprehension, and fluency competencies
  • Creating individualized motivational experiences through gamified reading achievement markers
  • Examining student performance metrics to optimize teaching methods and extract actionable intelligence
  • Partnering with engineering teams to assess and refine AI literacy platforms based on real classroom outcomes
  • Building scalable, AI-integrated materials that help early elementary learners reach grade-level reading proficiency

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering traditional front-of-room lectures — learning occurs through self-directed AI applications, not one-way instruction
  • Adhering to off-the-shelf curricula or scripted teaching guides — you create original workshops independently
  • Covering general academics — your domain is literacy workshops and motivational support, not mathematics or science instruction
  • Managing behavior or providing supervision — each session centers on defined learning targets and trackable results
  • Operating independently — you engage regularly with engineers developing the AI systems your students interact with

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that every K-2 learner in your group achieves at-grade-level or advanced reading performance through AI-enhanced workshops that transform phonics education into an engaging, measurable, and enjoyable experience

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree accompanied by either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Full fluency in both English and Spanish (essential for learner and family interaction)
  • 2+ years conducting small-group literacy interventions with early elementary populations
  • Competence in reading assessment, student grouping strategies, and creating differentiated instruction independent of packaged curricula
  • Comfortable using AI/adaptive learning platforms and analyzing student behavioral data
  • Authorized to work in Puerto Rico without requiring sponsorship
