Campus Recruiter   $75,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT: This position is not a traditional recruiting role.

Crossover seeks a campus recruiter to identify and secure the next cohort of 50 Alpha AI Engineer Interns: top-performing undergraduates from Stanford and MIT, prepared to dedicate their summer to generative AI development. Your mission? Complete that class. Quickly.

You will manage the full recruitment pipeline: from cultivating relationships and coordinating events to executing large-scale outreach and securing candidate commitments. You must operate with the agility of a startup founder, the instincts of a talent scout, and the precision of a sales executive. This role is not centered on formal networking events or promotional merchandise. It focuses on outcomes: 50 students, summer 2026, Austin, TX. You will have complete operational freedom — autonomy, budget, defined targets — with full accountability.

This opportunity suits someone who embraces demanding objectives, takes ownership of deliverables, and knows precisely how to identify and secure elite CS talent.

Core details:

  • $75,000 annual salary + comprehensive travel reimbursement
  • Full-time position with complete benefits
  • US-based location (requiring frequent travel to MIT and Stanford)

You may be an excellent fit if you:

  • Radiate compelling energy that captures attention — and drives student participation
  • Approach event coordination like a strategic puzzle and value flawless execution
  • Maintain composure under tight deadlines and adapt smoothly when circumstances change unexpectedly
  • Understand how to command attention, optimize conversion pathways, and deliver against ambitious targets
  • Enjoy the rhythm of university environments and the task of converting curiosity into commitment
  • Excel in constant travel mode — ready to go, calendar booked, consistently proactive

If you graduated from Stanford or MIT — or understand how to succeed on those campuses — this represents the most impactful campus recruiting position available.

What you will be doing

  • Developing and overseeing a results-focused pipeline of Stanford and MIT CS/ML students from first contact through accepted offers
  • Managing all operational aspects of on-campus recruitment activities — including venue booking, catering arrangements, and marketing material production
  • Conducting regular travel to MIT and Stanford for live programming, informational presentations, and dynamic engagement with students and faculty
  • Executing a structured, data-informed recruiting initiative: measuring outreach reach, event participation, technical assessment progression, and cohort completion
  • Serving as the primary campus representative for the Alpha AI Engineer internship program — accessible, professional, and trustworthy

What you will NOT be doing

  • Depending on corporate branding or human resources to generate interest — you control the entire process, start to finish
  • Making occasional campus visits or conducting passive recruiting — this requires intensive, sustained effort every week
  • Delegating operational tasks to support staff — you will secure venues, coordinate shipments, and arrange food service
  • Maintaining standard business hours — critical activity occurs when students are available: evenings, weekends, exam periods

Key responsibilities

Successfully recruit a complete, exceptional Alpha AI Engineer internship cohort (50+ accepted students) from Stanford and MIT by May 2026 via targeted outreach, campus events, and structured application pipeline oversight.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of university recruiting, admissions operations, or event-driven outreach work
  • Documented track record in large-scale outreach and student mobilization
  • Validated capability to coordinate sophisticated event logistics without supervision
  • Strong communicator, exceptionally organized, operates independently
  • US-based with capacity for frequent travel to Stanford and MIT

Nice to have

  • Degree from Stanford or MIT
  • Prior experience recruiting for technical roles in CS/ML domains
  • Professional history in sales, grassroots organizing, or startup operations
