Lead Software Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

If you're a Full-Stack Engineer energized by tackling intricate problems and shipping features that matter, this opportunity is for you. You'll contribute to the development of groundbreaking AI-driven products that reshape the way individuals learn and develop. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional quality, building systems that scale, remain maintainable, and drive meaningful outcomes.

Our portfolio includes products that are redefining education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning platform.
  • TeachTales: Captivates learners through personalized, enchanting narratives that enhance understanding.
  • TimeBack: Functions as an intelligent learning companion, embedding into existing tools to coach students proactively.
  • Athena: Delivers measurable educational results through AI-created videos and assessments.

This position is designed to create tangible impact through production-ready software. You'll harness AI tooling and cloud-native platforms to construct full-stack solutions addressing real challenges—not merely closing tickets. The expectation is rapid delivery without sacrificing quality, always selecting the most straightforward, effective approach that harmonizes immediate velocity with enduring sustainability.

If you're prepared to navigate sophisticated technical obstacles and ship features with genuine impact, we're eager to connect.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver Full-Stack Features End-to-End: Transform user stories from concept to production; clarify objectives, architect scalable systems, implement both backend and frontend logic, validate rigorously, and deploy to live environments
  • Diagnose and Resolve Defects: Trace issues to their underlying causes, address root problems rather than surface symptoms, and prevent recurrence through intelligent test coverage
  • Elevate Code Standards: Assess design proposals and pull requests to enforce clarity, simplicity, and correctness, preventing technical debt from taking root

What you will NOT be doing

  • Crafting pixel-perfect interfaces or elaborate backend systems for complexity's sake alone
  • Executing specifications mechanically without grasping the underlying challenge
  • Spending time in prolonged meetings about roadmaps and prioritization or tracking down stakeholders
  • Simply delivering features; you'll own the responsibility of solving genuine user problems

Key responsibilities

  • Leveraging AI to create software that addresses authentic user needs, ships quickly, and remains maintainable over time

Candidate requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience writing production code for web applications' frontend and backend (any framework).
  • Strong ownership: Demonstrated experience owning complete modules, product features, or teams, not just contributing siloed tasks
  • Independent execution: The ability to unblock yourself, set your own pace, and find paths forward in ambiguous situations
  • Experience in using generative A.I. in your day-to-day development work
