Lead Software Engineer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

If you're a Full-Stack Engineer who excels at tackling complex problems and shipping high-impact features, this opportunity is for you. You'll develop cutting-edge AI-powered products that redefine how individuals learn and develop, with a strong emphasis on scalable, maintainable, and high-quality execution.

The products you'll contribute to are reshaping education:

  • TeachTap: Uses AI to animate historical figures within a TikTok-style learning platform.
  • TeachTales: Captivates students through personalized, enchanting storytelling designed to improve comprehension.
  • TimeBack: Functions as a learning copilot, integrating seamlessly with existing applications to provide proactive student coaching.
  • Athena: Employs AI-generated videos and assessments to produce measurable improvements in academic performance.

This position is designed to create tangible impact through functional software. You'll leverage AI tooling and cloud-native infrastructure to construct full-stack systems addressing meaningful challenges—not merely completing task lists. You're expected to deliver rapidly while maintaining quality, selecting the simplest appropriate solution that harmonizes immediate velocity with sustainable maintainability.

If you're prepared to address sophisticated technical problems and ship features that matter, we want to connect with you.

What you will be doing

  • Design and Deliver Full-Stack Features: Own user stories from conception to deployment; refine requirements, architect scalable systems, implement backend and frontend components, conduct comprehensive testing, and release to production
  • Identify and Resolve Bugs: Diagnose issues using root cause analysis, address underlying problems rather than surface symptoms, and prevent regressions through intelligent testing strategies
  • Elevate Code Standards: Conduct reviews of plans and pull requests to enforce clarity, simplicity, and correctness, preventing technical debt at the source

What you will NOT be doing

  • Creating pixel-perfect interfaces or intricate backend systems as ends in themselves
  • Executing specifications without first understanding the underlying problem
  • Spending time in prolonged meetings about roadmaps and priorities or coordinating with stakeholders
  • Merely delivering features; your responsibility extends to solving genuine user problems

Key responsibilities

  • Applying AI to develop software that addresses authentic user needs, ships quickly, and remains maintainable over time

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience developing production code for both frontend and backend of web applications (any framework).
  • Proven ownership: Documented experience taking full responsibility for complete modules, product features, or teams—not merely isolated tasks
  • Self-sufficient execution: Capability to remove your own blockers, establish your own rhythm, and navigate forward in uncertain conditions
  • Practical experience incorporating generative A.I. into your daily development workflow
