Are your remote onboarding tactics stuck in the eighties?

Here's the tea: many remote companies are still all about those cringe-inducing bootcamps - think military-level intensity meets CrossFit cult vibes.

Sounds fun, right? Spoiler: it’s not.

I’m here to tell you that bootcamps don’t work online.

Translating those iconic 80s and 90s team-bonding rituals to a remote setting is a mission impossible scenario. And yet, it's still the top choice for many managers.

🥱 Those powerful in-person experiences don’t translate through a Zoom screen.

It presents remote managers with a unique challenge.

How do we onboard a team of remote workers, and make them as effective - as dedicated - as connected, as a highly trained military team?

I’m talking about a team as tight as Navy SEALS without the mud, sweat and tears.

This week, I've got some juicy insights that’ll help you find your way to those answers.

Poor remote onboarding turns your team into a disjointed mess.

They either don’t know what they’re doing for ages, or they speak about doing things, but never actually do them.

It’s your job to hit that sweet spot where efficiency meets engagement.

Onboarding new recruits is hard - I get it.

Nothing says ‘welcome aboard’ like a Zoom call that feels longer than a Monday.

But just because it feels like light hazing, doesn’t mean it’s going to forge lasting connections between your new (bewildered) team member and everyone else.

🚩 More screen time ≠ stronger bonds 🚩

It’s time for a revamp.

Or at least, time to put aside the endless virtual meetings that have become the standard for modern team bonding.

I’m here to break down why replicating in-person intensity flops harder than a sequel to a movie no-one asked for.

Instead of going hard, let’s go smart.

⭐ How do we forge real trust in distributed settings?

⭐ How do we share visions and values without sounding like a broken record?

⭐ And how do we really support each other when the going gets tough?
